What is a Delaware Water Quest Scavenger Hunt?
An event which requires that you solve a series of clues that lead you to various spots in the state, and photograph a team member and mascot at the location. You will see areas of the state that are often not visited (and some that are), and learn about the science, history, and policy of a variety of water resources. There are several additional tasks which are "unlocked" by information you gain while solving the regular clues. Complete all the clues and complete the tasks, and you will be elligible to win our $350 grand prize to be given out at the DE AWRA's Annual Dinner in December! It's NOT TOO LATE to register! We accept late registrations, but hurry, because speed does matter!

This fall the DE AWRA is conducting our 2nd annual Water Quest Scavenger Hunt. This event is designed to raise awareness across the state as to the many water-related resources and events available within our borders. Last year, the first annual event generated a great deal of enthusiasm on the part of the participants. [Read more about last year's event!]
Once again this year, participants will be challenged to locate these resources throughout New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties. The clues in the scavenger hunt will take people to a variety of places and events and will include anything from resources essential to our daily lives to educational or recreational water-related activities that people may not know are available in Delaware.
Why participate?
- First of all...it's FUN. All participants get the chance to travel around the state, following clues and solving puzzles to complete their packet. Points are given for creativity, completeness, and speed. The submissions from last year proved that our teams really pulled out the stops!
- Second, there are great prizes. Winning teams will receive cash and/or other prizes at the annual DEAWRA dinner, held in December. This event is one of our most popular, and is enlivened by the teams' participation, many of whose members do not belong to the DE AWRA. These prizes are offered through the kind support of our sponsors.
- Finally, it's FREE. In order to expand awareness of water resources issues throughout the state, we have decided not to charge an entrance fee to teams. Our goal is to introduce as wide an array of people as possible to the importance and diversity of the waters of our state.
