| Clean Marina Tour Rehoboth Bay Marina 1115 Highway One Dewey Beach, Delaware Come learn about the DNREC sponsored "Clean Marina" program which encourages Delaware marina's to operate in a way that protects water quality in the Delaware Bay and the Inland Bays. Tour of Schiff Farm The Schiff’s currently run the largest indoor feedlot in Delaware, with approximately 2000 head of cattle under roof in a 700’ x 100’ barn. When the Schiff’s began this project, they desired to create not only a large feedlot but an environmentally friendly one. Please join us for this informative tour of one of the largest agricultural operations in Kent County to see how water and manure are recycled and reused. Read about the tour. | DEAWRA Annual Dinner Collin O'Mara, DNREC Secretary serves in the Cabinet of Delaware Governor Jack A. Markell as Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC). In this role, Secretary O’Mara is responsible for carrying out the department’s mission and overseeing the department’s five major divisions – Air and Waste Management, Fish and Wildlife, Parks and Recreation, Soil and Water Conservation and Water Resources – and the Office of the Secretary, which encompasses the Delaware Energy Office, as well as leading the Governor’s efforts to create a thriving green economy and sustainable natural environment. O'Mara will be joining us for DE AWRA's annual meeting on Thursday, December 10, 2009. More details to follow. |
